Learn Chinese and Broaden Your World
Chinese is a member of the Sinitic Language Group. Indubitably, it has got various forms and cousin languages.
These languages are mutually comprehensible up to varying levels and degrees of understanding. Initially, the
home-grown languages spoken and used by the Han people of China, it now forms a branch of the celebrated
Sino-Tibetan Language family. About twenty percent of the world populace (i.e., over a billion people) use one or
another form of Chinese as their indigenous tongue.
The internal divisions of the language are typically seen by their indigenous speakers as the dialects of a
single language. This is, however, contradicted by several Sinologists and linguists. There are, in fact, around
seven to thirteen chief local groups of the Chinese language (depending on the scheme of classification one
chooses), of which, the most celebrated and spoken ones are the Mandarin (approximately 850 million), the Wu
(approximately 90 million), the Cantonese (approximately 70 million) and the Min (around 70 million). So, it is
nice indeed to learn chinese and enter this vast mutually understandable language family.
Besides, in today’s world, we are looking at an increasingly imposing China. The dragon is increasing its
involvement in almost all the sectors of modern human endeavor. Although the phrase super power is still reserved
for USA, China is certainly the other great power of the contemporary world. In the days to come, it is being
estimated by today’s analysts worldwide that China will emerge as the world’s leading economy by the year 2040. In
Asia at least, the Chinese military superiority is already unmatched, and the country is still rapidly surging
ahead. If you visit Shanghai or Beijing, you will easily discern the spectacular urban perspective of these
cities.
So for what exactly must we learn chinese? Simply, to be a part of this rise of the Asian super power! We need
to understand what the Chinese people say, think, and understand from their view point. That will increase business
communication across the eastern Asia and the West, giving way to trade and industrial understanding made more
robust. The rise of the dragon is perceivable in all international meetings and conferences. China is challenging
the European powers like Germany in the export markets. And when China is eager to understand the world, the
international community too must reciprocate by apprehending it.
It is aptly said that Mandarin Chinese, which is the standard language of Chinese Business Communication is one
of the crown languages that are complicated to learn. So do learn chinese, it’s a linguistic challenge too! The
language hugs loads of multifaceted spoken & written gears within it. Sometimes, it may appear to be
frustrating. So, with the purpose of understanding Chinese, you would have to enthusiastically dissect the
pronunciation patterns and the written or in print characters (there are many thousands of such expressions and
forms). You would also have to apprehend the tonal vernaculars utilized in each of the words. If the very task of
capturing the language is worked out by heart and mind, it would be really handy in understanding this major power
of the twenty first century better.
